Multimodal delivery of industrial equipment from China to Ukraine

Oversized project cargo via Turkey | Bulk vessel + road | 40 days
We arranged a one-time multimodal shipment of oversized industrial equipment — a dismantled processing line for reassembly in Ukraine — from Lianyungang, China, to the Kyiv region, Ukraine. The priority was to keep the cargo protected and fully controlled while adapting the route to the safest feasible option.
Route / mode: door pickup in China → bulk vessel charter → road delivery from Turkey to the Kyiv region (Ukraine)
Transshipment: yes — discharged from the bulk vessel in Turkey and reloaded onto trucks for final delivery
Intermediate hubs: Lianyungang → Haydarpasha (Turkey)
Transit time: 40 days (no delays)
Cargo: dismantled industrial equipment for reassembly (processing line components)
Volume / pieces: 93 packages | total measured volume 1,917.31 CBM
Stackability: non-stackable (size/weight/packaging constraints)
DG: NON IMO
Protection / handling: waterproof tarpaulins for oversized units, iron frames/boxes, wooden cases for smaller or sensitive components; additional tarpaulin covering to prevent moisture exposure
Control & risk management: survey reports at receipt (origin), during loading, and during discharge in Turkey; shipment consolidated and dispatched as a single lot; full cargo insurance arranged
The original plan was direct delivery to a Ukrainian port, but due to security risks in the Black Sea the vessel was diverted to a Turkish port. From there, the shipment was reloaded onto trucks and delivered overland — keeping the project moving without compromising cargo safety.
The result was a controlled multimodal delivery completed in 40 days with no delays, with careful handling applied to sensitive components (filters, motors, electrical units) during both the sea leg and transshipment.
